读《金融时报》学英文写作：开头技巧——用「行动+背景」式开头抓住读者
你的开头为什么总被跳过？
批改作文时，我见过太多这样的开头：
“Nowadays, more and more people pay attention to health. It is very important.”
这句话放在任何一篇作文里都成立——正因为放在哪里都成立，它等于什么都没说。阅卷老师扫一眼就知道：又是模板。
好的开头不是”引子”，而是”钩子”。 它第一句就要告诉读者：谁、在做什么、为什么值得关注。今天我们从《金融时报》一篇关于阿联酋全民接种新冠疫苗的报道，拆解记者的三种开头技法。
FT原文（示范素材）
The United Arab Emirates is offering free Covid-19 vaccinations to all citizens and residents as it pushes ahead in the global race to achieve nationwide immunity against the coronavirus.
While other countries are vaccinating according to age and vulnerability, the UAE, which in September approved emergency use of the jab for frontline medical staff, has expanded access to all adults across the population of 1m nationals and more than 8m foreign residents.
Dubai, the country’s tourism and commercial hub, has only one public location for vaccinations so far, a temporary field hospital in a theme park complex. Security guards said they admitted more than 1,200 cars a day last week, some of which queued for hours to access the facility.

三个开头技巧
技巧一：行动+背景式开头
结构公式： [主体] is doing [具体行动] as it [背景/意图]
FT第一句就把”阿联酋正在免费接种”这个行动，挂到了”在全球竞赛中冲向全民免疫”这个背景上。一个 as 从句，让一句新闻有了战略高度。
❌ 学生初版
The UAE is giving vaccines to people. Many countries are also doing this.
✅ 升级版
The UAE is offering free Covid-19 vaccinations to all citizens and residents as it pushes ahead in the global race to achieve nationwide immunity.
💡 效果
as it pushes ahead in the global race 把”接种疫苗”写成了”参赛冲刺”——行动有了目标、有了对手、有了紧迫感。写”保护环境""推广阅读”这类话题时，同样的公式：X is doing A as it pushes ahead in the global effort to...
考场模板：
Our school is launching a reading programme as it pushes ahead in the global effort to cultivate lifelong learners.
技巧二：对比铺垫式开头
结构公式： While [他者做法], [主体] has [自己的做法]
第二段用 While other countries are vaccinating according to age... 作垫脚石，衬托出阿联酋的”全年龄段放开”。对比一出来，主体的特别之处不用喊，读者自己就看出来了。
❌ 学生初版
The UAE is different from other countries. It vaccinates everyone.
✅ 升级版
While other countries are vaccinating according to age and vulnerability, the UAE has expanded access to all adults.
💡 效果
While 让步从句先承认”别人是这么做的”，再用主句亮出”我们是那么做的”——对比即论证。写”我们学校 vs 其他学校""线上学习 vs 线下学习”，这一招直接可用，还顺带解决学生只会写 but 的老毛病。
考场模板：
While many students study alone at home, our class has formed a study group that meets every evening.
技巧三：场景细节式开头
结构公式： [地点], [身份/定位], has [具体设施]; [具体人物] said they [数字/动作]
第三段没有说”疫苗接种很受欢迎”，而是写：一座主题公园里的临时医院、保安说每天1200辆车、有人排队几小时。用可数的细节代替空洞的形容词，画面感立刻出来。

Many people want to get the vaccine. It is very popular.
✅ 升级版
Security guards said they admitted more than 1,200 cars a day last week, some of which queued for hours to access the facility.
💡 效果
more than 1,200 cars a day + queued for hours 是两个具体的”证据”，比一百个 popular 都有说服力。写”活动很受欢迎”时别再说 many people like it，改成数据+动作：The organiser said they received over 500 applications within the first hour, some of which came from students who had queued outside the office since dawn.
考场模板：
Volunteers said they distributed more than 2,000 books in a single morning, some of which were picked up by students who had arrived an hour before the gate opened.
