People think it is wrong,写回应只会 The company said they were wrong。

Washington DC has sued Amazon for allegedly violating the district’s competition laws by illegally tying merchants to restrictive selling rules.

Karl Racine, attorney-general for the District of Columbia, accused the ecommerce giant of charging third-party merchants fees of as much as 40 per cent of a product’s price to sell through its website, and then requiring them not to charge less on other platforms.

It comes at a time several large technology companies are facing charges of anti-competitive behaviour.

But it will be seen as a test for whether other states and federal agencies can build their own cases against Amazon.

[原告] has sued [被告] for allegedly [违规行为] by [手段]

FT 原文

Washington DC has sued Amazon for allegedly violating the district’s competition laws by illegally tying merchants to restrictive selling rules.

学生写”谁起诉谁”,通常拆成三句:“The government sued the company. The company broke the law. It made sellers do bad things.” 而 FT 用一个句子装下三件事:谁起诉(has sued)、以什么名义(for allegedly violating)、用什么手段(by illegally tying)。

The government sued Amazon. Amazon broke the competition law. It forced sellers to follow bad rules.

The government has sued Amazon for allegedly breaking competition law by forcing sellers to follow restrictive rules.

[机构/人] has sued [对象] for allegedly [动名词] by [动名词]

Parents have sued the school for allegedly collecting students’ personal data by requiring them to install a monitoring app.
Residents have sued the factory for allegedly polluting the river by dumping waste at night.

[姓名], [身份], accused [对象] of [动作A], and then [动作B]

FT 原文

Karl Racine, attorney-general for the District of Columbia, accused the ecommerce giant of charging third-party merchants fees of as much as 40 per cent of a product’s price to sell through its website, and then requiring them not to charge less on other platforms.

Karl Racine, attorney-general for the District of Columbia 更妙的是指控本身带两个动作:of charging ... and then requiring ...。学生写”他批评公司收费高,还让商家不能降价”要两句,FT 用 accuse sb of doing A, and then doing B 一个框架全收。

Racine is the attorney-general. He criticized Amazon. Amazon charged sellers a lot. Amazon also did not let them sell cheaply.

Karl Racine, attorney-general for the District of Columbia, accused Amazon of charging sellers fees of up to 40 per cent, and then requiring them not to charge less elsewhere.

[姓名], [身份], accused [对象] of [V-ing A], and then [V-ing B]

The coach, a former national player, accused the team of skipping practice, and then blaming their poor result on bad luck.
Critics accused the app of collecting users’ location data, and then selling it to advertisers.

It comes at a time

It comes at a time [完整从句]

FT 原文

It comes at a time several large technology companies are facing charges of anti-competitive behaviour.

Now many companies also have this problem. 或者 At the same time, ...。FT 用 It comes at a time + 从句 把”当下正是……

Now many big technology companies are also facing similar problems.

It comes at a time more and more technology companies are facing charges of anti-competitive behaviour.

It comes at a time

It comes at a time [从句]

The school’s decision to ban phones comes at a time when many students are distracted by short videos.
The new policy comes at a time when public confidence in online privacy is falling.

句型四:事件定性 will be seen as a test

[事件] will be seen as a test for whether [从句]

FT 原文

But it will be seen as a test for whether other states and federal agencies can build their own cases against Amazon.

学生只会写 This is very important,空洞。FT 用 will be seen as a test for whether + 从句 把事件的意义变成一个可验证的问题:这件事将检验”是否……”。

This case is very important for other places.

The result will be seen as a test for whether other regions can build their own cases against the company.

[事件] will be seen as a test for whether [从句]

The exam reform will be seen as a test for whether schools can really reduce homework pressure.
The new rule will be seen as a test for whether self-driving cars can be trusted on public roads.
