你的同位语停留在初级阶段吗？
很多学生学会同位语后，只会一种模式：人名 + 职位。比如：
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, …
这当然没问题，但英文写作中同位语的应用远不止于此。如果你仔细读FT，会发现还有三种更高级的模式：
- 亲属关系同位语 — Ms Cheney, the daughter of former vice-president…
- 从属关系插入语 — Mr McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, …
- 两破折号插入 — 用两个破折号「塞」进额外信息
今天我们用同一篇FT深度报道——关于特朗普二次弹劾案——来学会这三种模式。
FT原文示范
“The president of the United States incited this insurrection, this armed rebellion, against our common country,” Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the House, said during a more than three-hour debate ahead of the vote.

每个句子都展示了不同的同位语/插入语技巧。让我们逐一拆解。
模式一：亲属关系同位语 — Name, the + relation + of + Person
前面一篇文章我们学了「人名 + 职位」。现在学一个更能展示文字功力的变体：人名 + 亲属关系。
FT原文：
Ms Cheney, the daughter of former vice-president Dick Cheney, said in a statement.
结构公式：
[人名], the [son/daughter/ brother/ sister/ wife/ husband/ friend] of [另一个名人], [谓语]
为什么好： 中国学生要表达「她是前副总统切尼的女儿」时，会写：
❌ 学生初版 Ms Cheney is the daughter of former vice-president Dick Cheney. She said in a statement.
或者更直白地：
❌ 学生初版 She is the daughter of former vice-president. And she said something.
✅ 升级版
Ms Cheney, the daughter of former vice-president Dick Cheney, said in a statement.
💡 效果 不需要两句话来解释背景，一个同位语短语就把「她是谁」清清楚楚说完了。
考场例句：
Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles III, has taken on more royal duties. Marie Curie, the wife of Pierre Curie and a Nobel Prize winner in her own right, discovered radium.
这种模式在雅思大作文中尤其好用——当你需要介绍一个权威人物作为论据支撑时：
Dr. Smith, the director of the research institute and a long-time advocate for renewable energy, has warned that current policies are insufficient.
模式二：从属关系插入语 — 所属者 + 被属者
这个模式恰好和模式一相反：先说「谁的什么」，再插入「那是谁」。
FT原文：
Mr McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, is one of three members of the president’s cabinet to have resigned.
结构公式：
[某人/某机构的名词所有格 + 身份称呼], [具体人名], [谓语]
为什么好： 学生写法：
❌ 学生初版 Mr McConnell has a wife. Her name is Elaine Chao. She is one of three members of the cabinet to have resigned.
✅ 升级版
Mr McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, is one of three members of the cabinet to have resigned.
💡 效果 三句压一句，而且把「McConnell的妻子叫Chao」这个信息变成了背景，主句说的「辞职」变成重点。

进阶用法： 还可以用物主型名词：
The city’s mayor, Li Wei, has proposed a new public transport plan.
模式三：两破折号插入语 — The Pairs of Dashes
这是最高级的模式，也是「插入语」的经典用法。用两个破折号在句子中间插入一段补充信息，句子读完时信息翻倍。
FT原文：
Just three presidents — Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Mr Trump — have been impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanours”.
结构公式：
[主语 + 主句前半部分] — [插入的补充信息] — [主句后半部分]
为什么好： 学生写法：
❌ 学生初版 Only three presidents have been impeached. They are Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Mr Trump. They were impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanours”.
✅ 升级版
Just three presidents — Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Mr Trump — have been impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanours”.
💡 效果 三种插入方式对比：逗号（信息量最小）、破折号（信息量大、强调作用）、括号（信息量大但语气弱化）。破折号在视觉上最突出，适合你想让读者「注意这个插入的部分」。
考场例句：
The three main causes — pollution, deforestation and overfishing — are all consequences of human activity.
Many students — especially those who lack access to quality education — struggle with academic writing.
The experiment — which had been planned for over a year — was finally conducted last week.
三种模式对比练习
原文需要改写：
“Michael is the head of the marketing department. He is the son of the company founder. He proposed a new strategy.”
版本一（亲属关系同位语）：
Michael, the head of the marketing department and the son of the company founder, proposed a new strategy.
版本二（从属关系插入语）：
The company founder’s son, Michael, who is also the head of the marketing department, proposed a new strategy.
版本三（破折号插入）：
Michael — the head of the marketing department and the son of the company founder — proposed a new strategy.
三个版本都正确，但语气不同。版本一最从容、版本二最简洁、版本三最强调。写作中根据语境选择。
写作建议
本周挑战：翻出你最近写的一篇作文，找到所有提到人物的句子。如果全部都是「A is B. A did C.」的结构，试着把其中3句改成今天学的同位语模式。
